Through the Years
Milestones
Don Bosco High School, Hojai was founded by Catholic missionaries under the Archdiocese of Guwahati. The school began humbly with a vision of providing quality, value-based education to the people of Hojai and surrounding regions.
Under the leadership of pioneering missionaries including Rev. Fr. G.K. Prakash, Fr. Augustine, Fr. T.P. Antony, and Fr. Nazrine Acharya, the school expanded its facilities and academic programmes, laying a strong foundation for holistic education.
The torch was carried forward by Fr. Luke Maniangat, Fr. Mathew Kanat, Fr. Mathew Anchukandam, Fr. Thomas Pallichankudy, Fr. Joseph Kallikat, Fr. Alex, Fr. Saibu MSFS, Fr. Subesh SCJ, and Fr. Arul SCJ — each contributing immensely to the school's growth.
The institution celebrated its Golden Jubilee, marking 50 glorious years of dedicated service. With over 2,000 students enrolled, a 100% HSLC board result record, and alumni across the globe, the school stood tall as a pillar of educational excellence in Assam.
Recognized as one of the oldest and most prestigious institutions in Assam, Don Bosco High School, Hojai continues to evolve — embracing modern education, computer literacy, and holistic development while staying rooted in its Salesian values.

Beyond Academics
Over the years, the Catholic missionaries have taken on the challenging mission of establishing and nurturing both the school and the wider community in Hojai. Despite numerous challenges, their unwavering dedication has ensured the delivery of quality education and holistic development for generations of students.
The institution also extends its care beyond academics by providing hostel facilities for students from distant regions, enabling access to education for many who would otherwise be deprived. Thousands of students have benefitted from this support system and have gone on to lead successful lives.
